ELENA NEBERA - Soprano
Prize-winner at an All-Russian and international competitions. Elena Nebera was Born in the Krasnodar Krai. After graduating from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Professor Tamara Novichenko), she was invited to join the St Petersburg Chamber Opera Company. She later trained at the Opernschule Graz (Austria) in addition to taking master classes with acclaimed musicians including Inge Borkh, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Mirella Freni and Diego Crovetti.

The singer’s repertoire also includes the roles of Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), Lisa (The Queen of Spades), Maria (Maria Stuarda), Abigaille (Nabucco), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Luisa (Luisa Miller), Leonora (La forza del destino), Aida (Aida), Madama Butterfly (Madama Butterfly), Turandot and Liù (Turandot), the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Donna Anna and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Eva (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), Freia (Das Rheingold), Sieglinde (Die Walküre) and Jenůfa (Jenůfa) as well as the only role in Schoenberg’s monodrama Erwartung and the soprano roles in Verdi’s Requiem and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. She has toured with the Mariinsky Opera Company to Baden-Baden, London, Berlin, Stockholm and Rotterdam; she has also performed at the Bolshoi Theatre and at the Golden Mask festival in Moscow and has appeared with the Mariinsky Opera Company in Tokyo where she performed the role of the Empress (Die Frau ohne Schatten). She has made numerous recordings on radio and television.
In 2000 she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival alongside such acclaimed opera stars as Thomas Hampson, Susan Graham and Paul Groves under maestro Ivor Bolton.
She performs at many renowned opera houses, among them theatres in Dortmund, Nuremberg, Bonn, Kassel, Weimar, Dusseldorf, the Teatro la Fenice in Venice, the Teatro Comunale in Bologna (as Salome in Salome under Nicola Luisotti), the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania (as Chrysothemis in Elektra under Will Hamburg) and Stuttgart’s Staatstheater (Erwartung under Marc Piolet).
She has also performed at the Megaron Concert Hall in Athens, in Luxemburg, in Berlin and the Ljubljana Festival (Lisa in The Queen of Spades alongside Elena Obraztsova), in Riga (Aida in Aida, Lisa in The Queen of Spades and Abigaille in Nabucco), in Zagreb and at the Saaremaa Festival (Turandot in Turandot).
At the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico she performed the role of Leonora (Fidelio) and at the Komische Oper in Berlin she sang as Katerina Ismailova (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk). In November 2011 she will be appearing in a performance of the opera Erwartung in Tokyo.
