ELINA AMROMINA - Stage Director
Elina Amromina is a graduate from St.Petersburg State Conservatory with Diploma with honours as an opera stage director. She stages productions for opera theatres and open air festivals and works in cinema as a film-director, editor and actress.
Among her productions are: "L’Elisir d'amore" for the IV summer open air festival "All Together Opera" in collaboration with Italian conductor Marco Pace. Production was broadcast live by TV- internet Channel “City+”, Tchaikovsky’s "Queen of Spades" (with the German conductor Oliver Weder) at the III summer open air opera festival "All Together Opera", broadcast live by TV Channel „Saint-Petersburg“, Donizetti's "Don Pasquale" for the State Hermitage Theatre, the production of Tchaikovsky’s "Eugeny Onegin" at the II open air opera festival "All Together Opera", Semi-staged production of “The Demon” by Anton Rubinstein broadcast live by TV Channel “Iskusstvo TV” at the State Hermitage concert atrium, semi-staged version of opera "Maid to Mistress" by Vernon Duke at the State Hermitage Theatre for the festival of Modern Music, Salieri’s opera "Prima la musica e poi le parole" by Salieri (based on her own poetry translation of the libretto), premiered in St. Petersburg, Russia, semi-staged opera Gretry’s “Peter I” for St Petersburg Conservatory Opera Theatre and others.
Elina also works as assistant director at the Wiener Staatsoper, St. Petersburg Conservatory Opera Theatre, Open Air festivals etc at productions of: “Le Nozze di Figaro”, “Tannhauser”, “Der Spieler, “Cosi Fan Tutte”, “Faust”, “Dido & Aeneas”, “Eugeny Onegin”, “Iolanta”, “Tzar’s bride”, “La Vestale”, “Daemon”, “The Golden Cockerel”, “La bella dormente nel bosco”, “Mazeppa” and others
Since 2011 Elina works in cinema as co-director, production manager, and actress. Her first short film " The Way Out" (68th Cannes Film Festival, SFC 2015) at which she acted as second director, production manager and actress, was presented in the Russian Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival. The film is a winner of multiple international cinema festivals. Her other projects include the "The Lady in Red" (second director and actress), the full-length feature "The reverse side of figment" (second director and actress) and the short film “The Boy and the Mime” (co-director and production manager).
She received the best actress award at the international festival "Reflections of Spirit" in Erlangen, Germany, received Monica Vitti Award for Best Actress Award at the Blow-Up International Arthouse Film Festival in Chicago and got a Platinum Winner Award for Actress in a Leading Role at the International Independent Film Awards (USA).
